Stella McCartney to design Olympic team's London 2012 Adidas outfits
Fashion designer Stella McCartney will design the British Olympic team's outfits for the London 2012 Games on behalf of Adidas.
The sports brand has appointed McCartney as the creative director who will be responsible for overseeing the development of the athletes' kits.
Speaking to Sky, she claimed that the mandate for her new role poses "a million challenges".
McCartney added: "I have to make it look good on television, I have to make it feel good for the athletes and I have to make it work technically, it has to do its job."
Many athletes may even pair the sports outfits with Adidas watches, which will undoubtedly create some additional pressure for McCartney.
McCartney's appointment appears to have been received favourably by athletes, according to the BBC.
Speaking to the broadcaster, cyclist Victoria Pendleton claimed that she was a "massive Stella fan".
